Pulling some of my kits (Updated)

I was contacted recently by someone who left a not so nice comment on my blog for all to see with out coming to me first, and who felt it necessary to come to my place of business to do so. This person said I was infringing on Disney copyrights. This came as a shock to me. I try very hard to be honest in all I do. I honestly had no idea. In college and High School I was taught that as long as you changed something you were ok.  I did ask several other people, designers and scrappers who all said they thought what I had designed was ok. No images were taken from Disney to design these kits and everything in the kits were designed by myself from scratch.

I never intended to take someone else’s idea in the way that I have been accused of doing. I was only trying to give you all something you would WANT to scrap your layouts with. I know how hard it is to find kits that one would want to scrap their memories with. So in order to stay away from even any appearance of copyright infringement, I have pulled my original “Fairest One of All”,  “Toy Chest” and “Magic Moments” kits to rework them and re-release them.

I am not doing this because of any comments of reporting me. I am doing it because I now understand  the copyright laws better and do feel I was infringing in one way or another and I want to be honest. Disney has not even contacted me at all. In fact, I contacted them myself before the original comment was ever made on my blog to ask about these kits.

So if you want these kits, please be patient and give me a little time to rework them. I hope you can all understand that any infringement that one may think I have done was not intentional. I tried very hard to change things and not make them the same but still give you a kit that you would like to create with. I value my integrity very much.

I will also not be releasing any freebies that include the items that were taken out, including alphabet sets. I would like to just lay this whole issue to bed, and move on continuing to design things that inspire others to be creative.

Thank you for the understanding and thank you in advance for not leaving unnecessary “not so nice” and comments that are not necessary.

You have to wonder if it’s not the competition that is doing this! I’ve seen other people complain about rude messages on their blogs about the very same thing and really if Disney had a problem they would come to you and give you a warning to remove the content. Your kits are adorable and I look forward to purchasing them in the future so that I can sometime finish my Disneyland and Disney World vacation scrapbooks (I’m way behind LOL).

I’m sorry to hear about these lousy comments! You make such wonderful kits and freebies available to those of us who love to scrapbook Disney trips. :( I am sorry that I was too late to download your Magic Moments Titles–they are simply adorable!!! I’ll keep checking your blog for new designs.

  3. Thank you for the nice comments! I hope to make more cute kits for you all. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. I have a super hero kit coming down the pipe line soon. And I thought the very same thing as Momma T. Interesting. But who knows….

I’m really sorry that “someone” felt that your business is so threatening to them (and Disney). Obviously there’s a jealousy issue. Disney wasn’t concerned before and Disney’s not concerned now. The only person who had a problem was just one petty, spineless person with nothing better to do than screw around in other peoples’ lives. I’m so disappointed that somebody has to poop all over everybody. I thought your kits were fine with the Disney-esque features and I am kicking myself for putting off ordering them until I could afford them because now they’re not available. :(

    Just my 2¢.
