July 24, 2010 | Posted by Laurie's Scraps Here is my new “Magic Moments”. I hope you like the few new additions I made. This one has the Ferris wheel and the train, and some glitter frames and elements.
It is still on sale at 20% off till next Friday. Now off to redo the other kits. Stay tuned for those coming soon!
Here is the new “Toy Chest” kit. I may be releasing the characters as freebies soon.

I can never understand why a person acts like that. We are all just grateful for your work Laurie.
I have no idea about copyright issues, but i can tell you that what i see with other designers is that when something is too obvious its Disney, they offer it free as a add-on to the kit for all to download. That way the person that buy your kit also have all that coordinates so well.

These new kits look great and the new elements you added are amazing!
I did not read the message that the person left and I am not all that familiar with copyright laws, but I have read some discussions regarding cake decorating and using copyrighted materials. This is what I gather… it’s violating copyright laws if you design something that can be identified as a copyrighted image and make profit from it BUT it is not illegal to do it and give it away and that it be used only for personal use… i believe it’s fine just as long as you don’t make any money of off it. To make money off of the characters you created, you’d have to get written permission from Disney. You may want to read the copyright laws though just to make sure.
With all that said, I LOVE your kit and I want to buy it soooo bad, but I would really like the characters… so I’m hoping that you do in the end decide to give those characters away as freebies!
I was just wondering about something. I had already bought both Magical Moments and Toy Chest. Will I be able to get your updates? I love all your kits and enjoy your work so I don’t want to miss a thing.

I was wondering the same thing as Ms Kittie. I bought the MM kit and wanted to see if I can purchase the new elements. The new kits are even cuter!!!
Also, I know a lot of designers through Mousescrappers and ct for a lot of them – and I know they’ve researched the copyright issue. You cannot profit from the designs but you can give them away as freebies.

Both kits are ADORABLE! And while I know that Disney is NOT someone you want to mess with because they come in with their army of lawyers and shut stores down for using their stuff, the elements and characters that you had to remove were SOOOO CUTE!!!
Wish there was a way to be able to use those if I bought the regular kits…*sigh*

I had emailed Disney once before I got the original comment that started all this, and again today asking them what is allowed and not allowed. I am not going to do anything as far as freebies until I hear back from them, IF I hear back from them. So that when I get comments again like I already have, I can know that Disney won’t be coming after me and I can be at peace. Thank you for trying to help me. I appreciate it.

I am so sorry people act so ridiculous. It is not like Disney makes Digital Scrapbooking kits and you are taking away from their profit. I am so sad. I would absolutely LOVE the things you took out to be given as freebies. I would then purchase both kits in a HEARTBEAT.
I believe that is only forbid to make profit with them. If that was not the case the many many designers on Disboards would have lawsuits.
